I’ve never seen a single flattering picture me running. I always see pictures of people smiling and all thumbs up and waving. I am not one of those people at all! Here’s the latest and greatest of my fierce and terrifying race faces from the Myrtle Beach Half Marathon.
I ran the 2013 Asheville half marathon and let me just say it was rough! I definitely did not set any personal records that day, in fact, it was a personal worst. But, I got 16th in my age group and that’s nothing to complain about.
We ran at the Rock ‘n Roll Nashville Marathon this past Saturday. I’ve been training for the past 18 weeks and it all finally culminated this past Saturday in the worst marathon weather in decades. After standing in torrential downpours for 30 minutes, we finally got out there and burned some rubber (while it continued to rain from every direction)!!
Hubby ran the Mini-Marathon and finished 24th out of over 1,000 participants and came 4th in his age group. Go hubby!!!!
I ran the half marathon and dropped 6 minutes off my last half marathon time, hit my race goal, and set a new PR of 1:45:40. I finished 108th in my age group (out of 2.5K), and was #305 female finisher out of over 11K women. Woo hoo!!!!!
It’s been a while. The beginning of the semester crush + my conference presentation at HighEdWeb 2012 + a bachelorette party in San Francisco = little time for blogging.
Last month was the Asheville, North Carolina Half Marathon and 5K.
I ran my first half marathon ever. I’ve been training since June and came in at 1 hour, 50 minutes. That was 40 minutes faster than my race registration time and 10 minutes faster than my personal best. I placed 16th in my age group, and 293rd out of over 1,300 runners. I’m really proud of how well I did and I think I might be addicted!
My hubby ran his 5K in 22 min 23 sec. This is only the second time he’s ever competed in a 5K (his first he ran 28 min). He came in 29th OVERALL (nearly 800 runners) and WON his age group! Yep, he got a gold medal folks. It’s huge.
I just realized that my half-marathon is in two weeks from this weekend and I had this huge moment of panic. I’ve been training for months, and I’m in great condition, but for some reason it just… hit me. AHH!
Ahhh, they feel great! Hopefully these will make a big difference with the swelling in my knees after exercise.
