I am ecstatic to announce that I’m a co-owner and partner in Elm Creative, a boutique communications firm.
We are a women-owned small business currently based out of Knoxville, Tennessee but have a national market. Our mission is to add value to society by amplifying the good work of others. That’s why we proudly specialize in servicing nonprofits, schools, community development organizations, and conscientious businesses. While our clients include a wide array, they have one common denominator—they add value to society.
I will continue to do consulting work through Luna Media, but now my design and development work will be run through Elm Creative.
I have a really great boss. Today, he brought us playdoh to express ourselves or release stress or get over design/writer’s block or whatever else adults use playdoh for. My crafty companion and I created a seascape. She had blue & I had orange. Not exactly UT colors, but hey. Still cool.
We have a very dear couple as close friends. The hubby friend chiseled a slate tile into a heart. He tried hanging it with a copper nail, but had no luck. Knowing that I am a crafty woman, he gifted it to me. I tried to get it to work with my decorations, but I couldn’t so I had the idea to craft it and then gift it back to them.
I painted a serif “H” on it in a cream color (their last name begins with H) and let it dry. Then I hung a jute rope off it and tied a bow with burlap ribbon with a teal chevron pattern.
I’ve never seen a single flattering picture me running. I always see pictures of people smiling and all thumbs up and waving. I am not one of those people at all! Here’s the latest and greatest of my fierce and terrifying race faces from the Myrtle Beach Half Marathon.
I ran the 2013 Asheville half marathon and let me just say it was rough! I definitely did not set any personal records that day, in fact, it was a personal worst. But, I got 16th in my age group and that’s nothing to complain about.
We ran at the Rock ‘n Roll Nashville Marathon this past Saturday. I’ve been training for the past 18 weeks and it all finally culminated this past Saturday in the worst marathon weather in decades. After standing in torrential downpours for 30 minutes, we finally got out there and burned some rubber (while it continued to rain from every direction)!!
Hubby ran the Mini-Marathon and finished 24th out of over 1,000 participants and came 4th in his age group. Go hubby!!!!
I ran the half marathon and dropped 6 minutes off my last half marathon time, hit my race goal, and set a new PR of 1:45:40. I finished 108th in my age group (out of 2.5K), and was #305 female finisher out of over 11K women. Woo hoo!!!!!
My darling husband is highly opinionated and is capable of ranting on nearly any topic. I gave him a blog a while back with the Esquire theme and got him up and running. However, I did promise him a logo and am always wanting to work on my illustration skills. It took a while to get around to doing it, but I finally got there. It could probably use some tweaking, but he loves it and wanted it up ASAP. When I went it up, I went ahead and modified the Esquire theme to complement the design of the logo.
