Lili’a Ada Uili Neville, the woman behind Luna Design, has a B.A. degree in English literature, focusing on feminist literature written by women of color. After college, she entered the Life Sciences Communication graduate program at University of Wisconsin—Madison. Her master’s thesis focuses on how the use of websites affects communication efforts of non-governmental environmental organizations and government-sponsored environmental initiatives in Samoa and American Samoa. She began her photography & design/development skills and career while at University of Wisconsin-Madison. It started with a single class, moved to an assistantship doing web work, and then evolved in to a full-time plus freelance career.
She moved to Knoxville, Tennessee in March 2010. Currently she’s employed as a web designer and developer in the Office of Communications and Marketing at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She recently coordinated the redesign of the university’s website, http://www.utk.edu.
Her education and work experience has provided her with incredibly high expectations and a dedicated work ethic. She is a high achiever, while maintaining the delicate balance between attention to detail and efficiency.
She enjoys watching Netflix, biking to work, running, taking thousands of pictures of her cat & dog & husband, staying fit, gourmet cooking, sautéing anything she’s unsure how to properly cook, eating ice cream out of the container, meowing at our cat, walking the dog, browsing magazines, and spending time with her husband. If you’re curious about what other random things that peak her interest, check out her blog.
